Figure of speech...

On October 20, 2016, the premiere of the film «Figure of speech or a play rehearsal
in the interior of the library» took place.

Admirers of the film studio «KhPI-film» gathered at the conference hall of the library» on the 20th of October. The head of the studio, stage director Iryna Zhoresivna Faustova announced the premiere of the gaming satirical short film «Figure of speech or a play rehearsal in the interior of the library». The editor-in- chief of the university newspaper «Polytechnic» Svitlana Petrivna Zemlianska stressed the importance of speech beauty and ability of youth to express their thoughts without using slang. Kind words were addressed to the young actors of the theater «Polytechnic» by the head of the student theater of miniatures Oleksandr Ivanov. Honored artist of Ukraine, the artistic director of the theater «Lanzheron» Vitalii Bondarev shared his viewing impressions of the movie with the creative team and the audience. Cozy atmosphere of the event was also made by the employee of the museum of the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» Serhii Perepelytsa's musical performance, whose work always pleases the audience.

Graphics. Serhii Komornyi

 On September 14, 2016, there was the opening of the exhibition «Graphics.
Serhii Komornyi».

The personal graphic arts exhibition by Serhii Komornyi, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, co-founder and honorary member of the European Academy of Painting «LeonArt» (Germany), took place at the library. This event took place thanks to the cooperation of our University Library and I. Yu. Repin Art-memorial Museum (c. Chuhuiv). The opening of the exhibition was attended by representatives of the creative communities of Kharkiv and Chuhuiv cities, scientists, students and the staff of the Polytechnic University. The exhibition curator, head of the «Art Gallery» department of I.Yu. Repin’s Museum Olha Viktorivna Pomanytska told about the artist’s life and work. At the opening of the exhibition a musical gift was made by Dmytro Hlavchev, a post-graduate student of the NTU «KhPI» Department of «Computer science and Programming».

The Science Night 2016

On September 24, 2016, the Scientific Library affably opened the door for comers and goers
willing to participate in the project «The Science Night 2016».

«The Science Night 2016» was a vivid and interesting event at the Polytechnic University Library. The guests were greeted with NTU «KhPI» Students’ Palace creative groups performances, rare books exhibitions, scientists’ works of our University, art exhibitions of amateurs and professional artists. During the excursions students, teachers, pupils and their parents got acquainted with the unique editions of the Library collections, with information resources and services and cultural activities. All visitors had a unique opportunity to touch the past and look to the future, to feel XIX-XXI centuries students.

The Portraits of Flowers

On September 16, 2016, the photo exhibition «Portraits of Flowers» was launched at the
Scientific Library.

The author of the exhibition Yuriy Piskovskyy is an architect, the winner of the Silver Medal of the UN, Professor of The International Academy of Architecture, Honorary Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture, the Ambassador of Peace of World Peace Council, the member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine. The photos of various flowers are presented. During the exhibition opening vocal arias and classical music were performed by creative groups of Students’ Palace of Polytechnic University. The author was congratulated with the holiday by the exhibition curator, Honorary Rector of NTU «KhPI» Leonid Tovazhnyanskyy, the Chief architect of Kharkiv Serhii Chechelnytskyi, rector of the Kharkiv National University of Construction and Architecture Yurii Shkodovsky and other distinguished guests. Visitors were impressed by previously unknown compositions, aesthetic beauty and harmony of the brightest representatives of nature.

In the shadow of a dandelion

On May 20, 2016, there was the opening of the exhibition of painting «In the shadow of
a dandelion».

Svitlana Zemliankina, the author of the exhibition is a student of the Kharkiv Art College, a graduate of the «Automation and Instrumentation» Faculty of our University, for years she has been collaborating as a professional illustrator with well-known publishing houses: «Ranok», «Saga», «Ekskliuzyv». Many kind words to the author were said by Director of the Hnat Khotkevych Ethnographic Museum «Slobozhanski Skarby», Associate Professor of «Ethics, aesthetics and cultural history» Department Krasikov Mikhaylo Mikhaylovich and dean of the faculty «Automation and Instrumentation», Professor Gapon Anatoliy Ivanovych. At the opening of the exhibition a musical gift was made by an employee of the NTU «KhPI» museum Serhii Perepelytsia and a member of the Yurii Vizbor club of the author's songs the bard Yurii Pravdin. Everybody could participate in a master class in painting.

The White Bird Marked with Black

On May 13, 2016, the soiree dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the outstanding Ukrainian
film actor, film director and screenwriter Ivan Mykolaychuk took place at the library.

In the opening speech, which came before watching a masterpiece of Ukrainian cinema – the film entitled «The White Bird Marked with Black», the head of the studio «KhPI-Film» Faustova Iryna Zhoresivna told students and lecturers about the life and career of the art figure, about his complicated fate and love for the native land.

Chernobyl – Bitter Memory and Eternal Pain

On April 26, 2016, in the conference room of the library there was held the commemoration
meeting devoted to the 30th anniversary of the accident at the CNPP «Chernobyl – Bitter
Memory and Eternal Pain».

The Associate Professor of Pedagogy and Psychology of Social Systems Management Dolharev Anatoliy Vasylovych gave a speech at the meeting with students of Automation Equipment faculty of the Kharkiv Computer and Technology College and students of Integrated Technology and Chemical Equipment faculty of NTU «KhPI». The movies «With the Help of the Whole World» and «The Profession of a FIREFIGHTER» were presented by the head of the studio «KhPI-Film» Faustova Iryna Zhoresivna. A film screening and the eyewitness’s story gave a chance to all the participants of the action to be transferred back at that time and to feel our people’s pain and responsibility to future generations.

On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the first human space flight

On April 19 and 20, 2016, there were held the meetings with Leonid Kadenyuk, the first
cosmonaut of Independent Ukraine, Major-General of the Armed Forces, Hero of Ukraine.
These meetings took place in the conference room of the library.

Within the framework of the International Scientific and Theoretical Conference «Ukraine and the World: Humanitarian and Technical Elite and Social Progress» there was held the forum dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the first human space flight. The event became so special because of the participation of the first cosmonaut of Ukraine Leonid Kostyantynovych Kadenyuk. In the course of the meetings, students, schoolchildren and public representatives took a keen interest in the history of flight, in the current state and the prospects of development of the space industry. They also shared their personal impressions and told about curious incidents that have happened to them. The hall was filled with a friendly atmosphere.

When Spring arrives!

On March 25, 2016, there was a holiday on the occasion of the Spring and the International
Theatre Day in the conference room of the library.

Creativity is the path towards awakening, revival and renewal!

The opening of the exhibition of the Kharkiv artist Tatiana Ivanova «Where the inspiration lives» took place. The pupils of the Kharkiv music school №1 named by L. Beethoven and the staff member of the NTU museum Serhiy Perepelytsa took place in the concert. The audience was impressed by the play «The Beginning» by Anton Chekhov and Arkady Avercnenko and the inspirational acting of young actors of the Polytechnic University theater. Everyone definitely had fun and and felt that the life is beautiful!

For you, dear women!

On March 4, 2016, there was a gala concert «For you, dear women!» on the occasion of
International Women's Day. This concert took place in the conference hall.

Talented men of the University greeted the library staff with the Spring holiday. Poems, humoresques, songs and jokes performed by our guests created a bright, iridescent and spring mood.
