Severyn Nadiia Vasylivna — Associate Professor of the Department of Humanities, at the Faculty of International Education, of the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute», Ph.D (Candidate of Philosophy).

Born in the city of Krasnohrad, Kharkiv region. Graduated with honors from G.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv State Pedagogical Institute (nowadays — G.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University), in the specialty «Russian language and Literature». She is a philologist and teaches language subjects to foreign students

Since 1979 she has been working at the Kharkiv Polytechnic University at the Preparatory Faculty (nowadays — the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute», Faculty of International Education).

In 2005 – 2009, she studied as a postgraduate student at the Philosophical Faculty of the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

In 2009 she defended her thesis on the topic «Ukrainophilism in Russian Culture» in the specialty 09.00.12 (Ukrainian Culture studies, Philosophical sciences) and received a degree of Candidate of Philosophical Sciences.

She received the academic rank of Associate Professor in 2010.

Severyn Nadiia has scientific publications in the leading professional journals recognized by the Higher Certifying Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. She is an author of about 100 scientific and scientific-methodical works, including textbooks and study guides (2 — with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 1 — with the stamp of the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute»).

She worked in the Mongolian People's Republic and in Austria. More than once she went to Alpen Adria University Klagenfurt (Austria) to teach language subjects at Summer language school. She had the opportunity to undergo a German language study course in Germany (c. Magdeburg).

The main areas of research are the problems of cross-cultural relations of Slavic peoples, intercultural communication, the theory and practice of creating textbooks and study guides for foreign students learning Russian/German as a foreign language as well as Ukrainian Culturology study guides.

She was awarded with the diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
