Oleksandr Georhiyovych Romanovskyi is Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Social System Management, Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Candidate of Engineering Sciences.
O. G. Romanovskyi was born on 26th of January, 1953 in Zanadvorovka village of Vladivostok district of Primorskyi Krai (region) (The Russian Federation).
In 1974 he graduated from the Kharkiv Engineering Construction Institute (now — the Kharkiv National University of Construction and Architecture).
After graduation, Oleksandr Georhiyovych worked in various positions. During the period from 1974 to 1976 he was a master, and later he worked as a foreman in the «Zhilstroy–1» house builder company. From 1976 to 1978 he served in the Soviet Army. After demobilization he was Deputy Head of the production department and then he headed the KhCA house builder company «Zhilstroy–1» (1978–1981). In 1981 he began to work at KhPI:
1981–1983 — Vice–Rector for Capital Construction of KhPI;
1991–1995 — Vice–Rector for scientific work of KhPI /KhSPU;
1995–2002 — Vice–Rector for development and administrative and productive activities of NTU «KhPI»;
2002–2004 — Vice–Rector for Academic Affairs and Strategic Development of NTU «KhPI»;
2004–2015 — Vice–rector for scientific and pedagogical work of NTU «KhPI».
In addition, since 2000 till now he has been Head of Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Social System Management at NTU «KhPI».
Simultaneously with the fruitful work O. G. Romanovskyi was engaged in scientific work. In 1989 he defended the thesis for the Candidate’s Degree on the topic: «Heat-Resistant Cements Containing Chromohercynite» by speciality «Technology of refractory non-metal materials» in the field of technical disciplines.
O. G. Romanovskyi was the initiator of creation the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Social System Management (2000). It is the first and the only department in Ukraine dealing with research of psychology-pedagogical problems of the engineering education. He is the founder of the scientific professional edition: the quarterly published scientific and practical magazine «Theory and practice of social systems management: philosophy, psychology, education, sociology» (2000). The State Prize laureate of Ukraine, Doctor of pedagogic Sciences, professor O.G. Romanovskiy has been the editor-in-chief of the magazine since its inception.
The results of O. G. Romanovskyi’s theoretical and experimental research were summarized in his Doctoral thesis «Theoretical and methodical bases of training of future engineers for administrative activity». It was defended by O. G. Romanovskyi by specialty «Theory and Methods of Professional Education» (2001). Since 2002 O. G. Romanovskyi has been the Professor of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.
The author of over 436 scientific papers, 14 monographs, 4 textbooks, 25 training manuals and 20 educational-methodical references.
O. G. Romanovsky has been awarded by numerous awards, honorary degrees, premiums:
Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of Architecture (1999).
The title of «European Engineer Teacher» (2001).
Honorary Professor «Doctor Honoris Causa» of the University of Petrosani (Romania, 2004).
