Abstract

The textbook presents theoretical fundamentals, mathematical modeling methods and experimental researches of the formation process of toxic substances in ICE emissions. Norms for limiting emissions of harmful substances by engines of various purposes are given. The ways of ICE ecologizing due to reducing of toxins and flue gas levels in ICE emissions are considered, first of all using computerized control and optimization of processes in ICE based on complex fuel and ecological criteria. The means of neutralizing harmful engine emissions are considered. Legal aspects of ecologization are described.

The textbook is intended for students of the specialty «Internal Combustion Engines». It can be useful for lecturers, post-graduate students, engineers-developers of advanced internal combustion engines (ICE).
