Sergei Ihorovych Arkhiiereiev is Head of the Department of General Economic Theory of National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute», Doctor of Economics, Professor.
In 1982, S. I. Arkhiiereiev graduated from O. M. Gorky Kharkiv State University (nowadays — V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University) majoring in Political Economy, qualification — an economist and a political economy teacher.
In1987 he defended Ph.D. thesis on «Ekonomicheskie protivorechiya sotsialisticheskogo obobschestvleniya proizvodstva» [Economic contradictions of socialist socialization of production] and received the candidate of economical sciences degree.
In 2002 he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic «Transaktsionnyie izderzhki v usloviyah ryinochnoy transformatsii» [Transaction costs in a market transformation] and received a doctorate in economics. In the same year he headed NTU «KhPI» department of General Economic Theory. Under his leadership, the academic school on the transaction costs theory was established at the university, which is recognized in Ukraine and abroad.
In 2009 Sergei Ihorovych Arkhiiereiev became the winner of the XI regional competition «Higher School of Kharkiv Region — 2009. The Best Names» in the nomination «Teacher of professionally-oriented disciplines» and was awarded the V. N. Karazin Prize.
Research interests: economic theory, institutional economics, transaction costs in the conditions of market transformation, international business.
S. I. Arkhiiereiev is the author of more than 150 publications. His publications repeatedly have become winners in the contest for the best textbook with the signature stamp of NTU «KhPI» Scientific Council.
