Andrieiev Arnold Heorhiiovych is Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Dynamics and Strength of Machines of National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute».
Born in 1932 in the family of Heorhii Yakovych Andrieiev — Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, Supervisor of the Laboratory of Automation of Technological Processes in Mechanical Engineering and the Laboratory of New Materials, the Rector of the Ukrainian Correspondence Polytechnic Institute (nowadays — Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy) from 1964 to 1978. From his father Arnold Heorhiiovych inherited a passion for technology and a desire for research.
In 1956 he graduated from Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute (now — National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute») with a degree in Dynamics and Strength of Machines of Engineering and Physics Faculty. After graduation, he worked at the plant of the Ministry of Aviation Industry, at the Laboratory of Hydraulic Machines of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, since 1961 he has been working at Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute at the Department of Machine Details, since 1969 — at the Department of Dynamics and Strength of Machines. In 1969 he defended Ph.D. thesis on the topic: «Issledovanie temperaturnyih napryazheniy v tselnokatanom vagonnom kolese» [Study of temperature stresses in an all-rolled wagon wheel], which examined temperature stresses and deformations in an all-rolled wagon wheel. It has become an important aspect in the process of studying the induction and thermal assembly/disassembly of the joints, because the heating rate was limited precisely by the magnitude of the temperature stresses that arose in the connected elements of the wheelset and, first of all, in the wheel.
In 1972 Arnold Heorhiiovych Andrieiev was honored with the academic title Associate Professor by the Higher Attestation Commission. The main direction of scientific research is the optimization of the processes of thermal assembly and disassembly of joints with tension parts of complex configuration based on calculated and experimental studies of these objects.
Has read 18 lecture courses, in particular:
• stability of mechanical systems;
• experimental mechanics of a solid deformable body
• experimental mechanics of machines;
• probability theory, random processes, mathematical statistics;
• applied theory of elasticity;
• theory of thin-walled structural elements;
• strength problems in power plants;
• mathematical foundations of reliability theory.
He has more than 120 publications in scientific journals of Ukraine, Germany and Russia, the author of 5 study guides, 14 methodology guidelines. For the last 5 years he has published 20 scientific and technical articles, has drafted a textbook «Tenzometriia» [Tensometry], which has been recognized as the best textbook of NTU «KhPI» in the rating for 2017 academic year.
