Melnyk Tamara Vasylivna is Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute».
The entire career of T. V. Melnyk is connected with National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute». This is where at first she was a student, then Researcher and Lecturer of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry.
T. V. Melnyk gained the authority and respect of the university team even in her student years, when she was an active student leader, participated in the work of student construction crews: Surgut, Baikal-Amur highway (BAM), Bulgaria.
In 2012 she defended her dissertation for Candidate's Degree in Historical Sciences, specialty 07.00.07 «History of science and technology». Dissertation topic: «Stanovlennia ta rozvytok khimichnoi tekhnolohii azotovmisnykh spoluk i sody v Ukraini (naprykintsi XIX – 80-ti rr. XX st.)» [Establishment and development of chemical technology of nitrogen-containing compounds and soda ash in Ukraine (at the end of the 19th - 80s of the 20th century)], the supervisor L. M. Besov.
Tamara Vasylivna devotes a lot of effort to scientific work, the significant results of which were implemented in the oil industry of the Oil and Gas Production Department «Akhtyrkaneftegaz» PJSC «Ukrnaft», she also worked under a creative partnership agreement with the Poznań Polytechnic.
Since 1999 T. V. Melnyk has been teaching at the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry of National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute», she teaches courses in general chemistry and fundamentals of biochemistry to students of the IF and IT faculties. She tries not only to teach students, but also cultivate respect for oneself and others. A serious person, she always remains friendly and easy to communicate with students and colleagues.
