Snihurova Tetiana Oleksiivna — Head of the Department of Humanities of the of International Education Faculty of the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute», Associate Professor, Ph.D (Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences).

Born in Kharkiv.In 1970 she graduated from the Foreign Languages Faculty of A.M. Gorky Kharkiv State University (nowadays — V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University), in specialty French language and French literature. Since 1973 she has been working at the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» at the Preparatory Faculty for foreign citizens (nowadays — the International Education Faculty).

In 1992 she defended PhD thesis on the topic «Communicative control of oral monological utterances of informative type». The academic rank of Associate Professor was awarded in 1994, the Doctor's degree of the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» — in 2002.

She worked at the University of Madagascar (Democratic Republic of Madagascar) and read lectures at the University of Vienna and Alpen Adria University Klagenfurt (Austria).

Since 1993 up to the present she has been directings the work of the Summer Language School, within the framework of the Agreement between NTU «KhPI» and Alpen Adria University Klagenfurt (Austria).

She has scientific publications in the leading professional journals recognized by the Higher Certifying Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and abroad and also develops Russian language distance courses for foreign students.

Tetiana Snihurova’s main research areas are the problems of intercultural communication, theory and practice of creating of textbooks and study guides for foreign students learning Russian as a foreign language as well as Ukrainian Culturology study guides.

She is the author of more than 160 scientific and scientific-methodical works, 3 of which are textbooks with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; 43 study guides; (3 — with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 1 — with the stamp of the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute»), as well as 3 dictionaries.

She was awarded with the diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
