Andrenko Pavlo Mykolaiovych (1947–2021) — Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Turbine Construction of National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute».

Born January 28, 1947

P. M. Andrenko graduated from Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute (now is National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute») in 1971 and from the same year he began working as Assistant at the Department of Hydraulic Machines and Hydropneumatic Automation. In 1977, he defended his PhD thesis at Warsaw Polytechnic, and his doctoral thesis at the Specialized Academic Council of NTUU «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» in 2009. In 2011, he received the academic title of Professor of the Department of Hydropneumatic Automation and Hydraulic drive.

The sphere of Andrenko’s scientific research was the development of methods for mathematical modeling of work processes and the optimization of hydraulic systems for general industrial and special purpose equipment. Under his leadership, a number of devices and control systems for technological equipment were created, which made it possible to automate production processes, reduce the time of the technological cycle, solve the problems of improving product quality and the technical level of equipment, and reduce the design time.

He has more than 240 published scientific papers, including 3 monographs, 18 publications in international periodicals, 33 author's certificates and patents of Ukraine, made more than 70 reports at international scientific and methodological conferences and seminars.   P. M. Andrenko was a member of the board of the International Association of Industrial Hydraulics Specialists and a member of the editorial board of the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Technical Journal «Industrial Hydraulics and Pneumatics». Under his supervision, five Сandidates of Technical Sciences were prepared.

Andrenko P. M. conducted classes effectively. He gave basic lecture courses, supervised coursework, bachelor's, master's theses and research students’ work. Together with students, 39 joint papers were published.

Pavlo Mykolaiovych authored 8 training manuals, two of them with visas of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 43 methodical guidelines, including 7 on game design.

For more than 10 years, Pavlo Mikolaiovych was a member of the Specialized Academic Council D64.050.11 at NTU «KhPI». As a qualified scientist and principled expert, he was a critical and uncompromising voice, and his well-founded remarks were always taken into account when discussing draft decisions of the Specialized Academic Council.
