From the history of the holiday:
Since 1981, September 21 the International Day of Peace has been observed around the world, which was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations with the aim of strengthening the ideals of peace around the world, ceasing fire, rejecting violence and raising peace awareness among the people of the world. The symbol of the International Day of Peace is a white dove with an olive branch, which after the Second World War began to be called the «Dove of Peace».
In Ukraine, the Day of Peace has been celebrated since 2002, according to the Presidential Decree of February 5, 2002.
Today, peace in Ukraine is a conscious goal. The struggle for peaceful existence, for the right to live in our own state continues. And today every Ukrainian family felt the highest value of peace, which is the key to a happy life.
