Shulha Ihor Volodymyrovych is Candidate of Technical Sciences, PhD (Engineering Sciences), Associate Professor of the Department of Oil, Gas and Solid Fuel Refining Technologies of National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute».

In 1984 he graduated from V. I. Lenin Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute (now is National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute») majoring in «Chemical Technology of Solid Fuels» and qualified as an engineer-technologist.

In 1991 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences: «Development of readiness criteria of heated coals and charges for molding and technological parameters of their molding in the production of molded metallurgical coke» and obtained the scientific degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in the specialty 05.17.07 — «Chemical technology of fuel and gas».

Field of scientific interests of I. V. Shulga:

  • thermochemical technologies for obtaining substitutes for oil and natural gas refining products from coal (thermolysis, gasification, semi-coking);
  • new coking technologies (without catching chemicals, molded coke);
  • improvement of modern technologies of coke production
  • use of coke in the blast furnace process;
  • energy saving in coke production.
