Shoman Olga Viktorivna is Head of the Department of Geometric Modeling and Computer Graphics of NTU «KhPI», Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.

In 1998 O. V. Shoman defended Ph.D. thesis «Heometrychne modeliuvannia promenevoho enerhoobminu mizh analitychno zadanymy poverkhniamy» [Geometric modeling of radial energy exchange between analytically specified surfaces] for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences. In 2007 she defended doctoral thesis «Heometrychne modeliuvannia uzahalnenykh paralelnykh mnozhyn» [Geometric modeling of generalized parallel sets].

In 2008 — after successfully defending her doctoral dissertation — Olga Viktorivna was appointed Head of the Department of Geometric Modeling and Computer Graphics.

O. V. Shoman is a well-known specialist in the field of geometric modeling of phenomena and processes. Led by Olga Viktorovna, the department conducts research together with various scientific and industrial organizations, such as LLP Fire and Technical Enterprise «Brandmaster» (Kharkiv), Institute of Thermoelectricity of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Chernivtsi), Uzhhorod National University, Poltava University of Consumer Cooperatives (Nowadays — Poltava University of Economics and Trade), LLP «Ukrainian Research Institute of Light Sources» (Poltava), Kremenchug Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University. She also fruitfully cooperates in the field of applied geometry and computer technologies with the leading departments of universities of Kyiv, Lviv, Melitopol, Moscow, Belgorod and others.

Nowadays Professor O. V. Shoman continues her research work in the field of problems of geometric modeling of physical and physical and chemical phenomena and processes. She has more than 70 publications, including a monograph and a textbook recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
