Modern society has suffered from the negative impact of war and pandemic on the mental health of the population. This has become a serious challenge for society. Restoring health is an urgent task at all times and for everyone!
According to WHO, we have shocking statistics: almost 1 billion people in the world suffer from mental disorders; 3 million people die every year due to alcohol abuse; every 40 seconds one person in the world commits suicide.
Stabilizing one's own psychological health and maintaining the health of others is a difficult task. It’s important to recognize the first signs of the progression of your mental health disorders, your loved ones or colleagues. According to the «Centre for Mental Health and Monitoring of Drugs and Alcohol of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine», the following are signals that require attention:
  • long-term sleep disturbance;
  • mood disorders
  • persistent intrusive thoughts;
  • loss of interest and satisfaction from working and leisure.
People’s health, including mental health, primarily depends on themselves. To take care of your mental health, you should:
  • find a hobby and develop it;
  • organize time and space for quality sleep;
  • be active (walk a lot, do sports, etc.);
  • communicate with interesting people;
  • meditate.
Signs of good mental health include:
  • the ability to cope daily stress and solve problems;
  • productivity and efficiency of labor;
  • opportunity to grow and develop;
  • interest in other people and community;
  • life satisfaction
If you notice signs of mental health deterioration, it is recommended to seek professional help from a psychologist, psychotherapist or psychiatrist.

The social and psychological service works at NTU «KhPI». The purpose of the service is to increase the efficiency of the educational process, prevent and resolve conflicts between the participants of the educational process, protect the mental health and social well-being of students, teachers and employees of NTU «KhPI».

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, the teams of the Department of Social System Control Pedagogy and Psychology named after I. A. Ziaziun of NTU «KhPI» and the Scientific and Technical Library of NTU «KhPI» wish everyone mental health and harmony in life!
