The great day will open the gates of heaven,
And Cherubim and holy Archangels
Will sing for me and for you,
Embraced with God in the heavenly heights…

On April 16, 2026, a thematic evening “Easter Traditions” from the series “Customs and Rituals of Ukrainian Culture” was held at the Public Library of the Vysokyi Settlement Council for internally displaced persons.

The Vysokyi Library became a center of warmth and unity for everyone who needed it. Traditions are honored here, the festive spirit is preserved, and the customs of Ukrainian culture are revived.
The attendees were immersed in the world of Ukrainian Easter traditions — from ancient celebration customs to modern rituals.
Easter is above all about hope. Even in the darkest times, it reminds us that light will surely prevail.
The Easter holiday is not only about blessing Easter bread; it is a time of sincere prayer, good deeds, and hope for a better future.
The Resurrection of the Lord, or Easter, is one of the brightest and deepest holidays in the Christian tradition. It symbolizes the victory of life over death, good over evil, and hope over despair. For many Ukrainians, this is not only a religious event but also a special time of family unity, inner renewal, and the preservation of traditions passed down from generation to generation.
Today, Easter in Ukraine symbolizes the general rebirth and renewal of the world.
Traditionally, festively, and spectacularly, guests were pleasantly surprised by a concert program presented by representatives of NTU “KhPI”:
•  head of the Department of the Scientific and Technical Library of NTU “KhPI” Lidiia Bondarenko,
•  head of the Art-International “Yednannia” Center of the NTU “KhPI” Students’ Palace, laureate of international competitions Halyna Volchenko,
•  Serhii Bykanov, Deputy Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Chemical Technologies and Engineering.
Easter and folk songs were performed by the music group. Their singing filled the space with light and hope, reminding everyone of the power of Ukrainian culture and the people’s faith in a better future.
Ukrainian songs as well as lively songs from other countries were performed, and poems by both Ukrainian classical and contemporary authors were recited.
A pleasant surprise was the performance of Anna Masovets, a library reader and graduate of NTU “KhPI”, who sang a song based on the lyrics of Lina Kostenko.
Such meetings help people feel support, restore inner balance, and find new strength.
