The seminar “International Citation Styles: APA Style” is dedicated to one of the most widely used formats for academic writing. Proper compilation of a reference list is an essential component of academic integrity, as it ensures transparency of research, allows readers to trace the materials used, and increases trust in scientific results. During the seminar, participants will learn about the fundamental rules of APA Style, common mistakes, and practical recommendations that help correctly format citations and reference lists.

APA Style community

APA Style is the world’s most widely used academic writing style, created by the American Psychological Association to ensure clear, precise, and consistent scholarly communication. It provides detailed standards for text structure, citation, reference formatting, and the use of inclusive, bias-free language, helping authors improve the transparency and reliability of their work.

The APA Style team develops and updates guidelines, creates educational materials, examples, webinars, and tools, including the official Publication Manual and online platforms for learning and practicing scholarly writing.

Their work is important because standardized rules help authors avoid errors, cite sources correctly, ensure academic integrity, and make scientific texts easier for readers to understand and evaluate. Unified standards allow writers to focus on content rather than formatting, ultimately improving the quality of scholarly communication.
