National Poetry Reading Week “Golden Chime”
Primary tabs
The Ukrainian Book Institute is organizing for the third time the All-Ukrainian informational and educational thematic campaign “National Poetry Reading Week”. This year it will take place from March 16 to 22, 2026. The theme of the event, “Golden Chime”, is inspired by the lyrical poem of the same name by Pavlo Tychyna.

“Golden Chime” by Pavlo Tychyna, written in 1917, is about the spiritual revival of the Ukrainian people, their long‑awaited freedom, inseparable from an underlying sense of anxiety that runs throughout the entire poem. Its lines have not lost their relevance today. “Golden Chime” continues to resonate with the same message: freedom, hope, and light—fire that triumphs.
Let us unite around the poetic week of reading to find verses close to our hearts, discover new names and texts, and most importantly—to read poetry and share a bit of light with one another.
During Poetry Reading Week, a Poetry Catalogue for 2025–2026 will be presented—an important source of information for booksellers, literature teachers, librarians, and everyone interested in the literary process.

For Poetry Reading Week, artworks by Alla Horska were used: “Cossack Mamai” (1963) and “Sketch for Painting” (1967), with permission from the Alla Horska and Viktor Zaretskyi Foundation.
