My Native Kharkiv, I Am Proud of You!

On July 14, 2026, a creative meeting featuring poets of Slobozhanshchyna entitled «My Native Kharkiv, I Am Proud of You!» dedicated to Ukrainian Statehood Day was held for internally displaced persons.
The event was organized by the Scientific and Technical Library of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” in cooperation with its partners. The gathering brought together poets from the Slobozhanshchyna region and residents of the city, who met to honor the centuries-old history of Ukrainian state-building through poetry, express their love for their native Kharkiv, and support the indomitable spirit of Ukrainians.
Ukrainian Statehood Day reminds us of the profound historical roots of our people, their identity, and the thousand-year tradition of statehood. Today, in the context of war, this holiday takes on special significance, serving as a symbol of unity, resilience, and faith in Victory. The creative work of Slobozhanshchyna artists once again demonstrated that Kharkiv was, is, and always will be an integral part of independent Ukraine.
During the event, a poetry marathon took place featuring poets from the Kharkiv region: Zoia Tsybina, a member of the creative association «TAL of Slobozhanshchyna» and Renata Severina, a representative of the literary association «Merezhyvo». Their heartfelt poems were dedicated to Ukraine, Kharkiv, the courage of the defenders, and the resilience of the Ukrainian people.
A special atmosphere was created by bard Mykola Novin, who performed patriotic songs. His performance harmoniously complemented the literary readings, giving those present sincere emotions, a sense of unity, and pride in their country.
The meeting became not only a cultural event but also a space for solidarity, mutual support, and spiritual strength. It once again proved that the Ukrainian word, poetry, and song are essential components of our cultural front.
We sincerely thank our partners – Family Reading Library Branch No. 5 of the Municipal Cultural Institution «Central Library of the Slobidskyi District Library System of Kharkiv» for their hospitality, fruitful cooperation, and joint organization of the event. It is through partnership that we are able to implement cultural initiatives that strengthen national unity, preserve historical memory, and promote Ukrainian culture.
